Primary Responsibilities

The Asia Fixed Income Chief Operating Officer Team is responsible for supporting the sales and trading team. The team provides strategy support, financial management, enablement of business initiatives and coordination with support groups. This role will require the individual to support the regional Asia COO team. Candidate must be able to work well under pressure and be able to manage his/her workflow optimally.

Position Description:

  • Reporting and analytics
    • Managing reports on Fixed Income business performance going out to senior management.
    • Coordinating between Finance, IT and COOs to ensure all reported numbers are accurate.
    • Efficient use of excel & VBA and other reporting / analytic tools to make process smoother.
    • Understanding various reporting infrastructures and focus on automating reports running without manual intervention.
    • Scope – PL, Sales Revenue, Interactions, Headcount, Market size.

  • Business planning / budgeting / regular updates
    • Preparing, coordinating, and managing business plans & presentations.
    • Working with sales and traders on qualitative inputs required in relation to senior management updates, business planning and budgeting.
    • Working with sales and traders on revenue updates, commentaries, and feedback on business with clients.
  • Projects
    • Automations of reports
    • Streamlining report inventory and cleaning up unneeded processes

Skills / Attributes required (essential)

  • Attention to detail. Probably the most important skill needed to excel in the role. Ability to carefully go through and review reports and spot errors before they go to senior management
  • Strong excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Power BI Knowledge and experience are a plus. Expected to learn
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income, FX and Interest Rates products, financial markets, trade life cycles, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think out of the box.
  • Be a good team member. Willingness to support and help team members.
  • Willingness and hunger to learn and grow.
  • Expected to be an independent contributor role even in the long run. Candidates should not expect people management or delegation authorities
