What youll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. is seeking an Associate, Software Engineer in New York, New York to design and maintain scalable software systems while leveraging AI technologies including LLMs to optimize business processes. Handle end-to-end software workflows. Debug and stabilize software environments and ensure seamless data processing with robust database management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, improve infrastructure, and communicate technical solutions to stakeholders. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What youll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.

-Requires two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Associate Business Analyst, Analyst or a related role.

-Requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills:

  • API integration;
  • Application enterprise workflows;
  • Python; and
  • SQL.

-Requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills:

  • Prompt engineering, including Chain-of-Thought and Few-Shot prompting;
  • Embeddings and vector search, including Redis vector search and FAISS;
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and TeamCity;
  • Distributed messaging frameworks including Apache Kafka;
  • RESTful APIs;
  • Spring Boot within a microservices architecture;
  • Large language models (LLMs) including OpenAI;
  • Java; and
  • Monitoring and log analysis using Splunk.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $138,000 and $138,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
