The Equity Finance Department provides critical support for trading and operations teams by ensuring accurate and efficient execution of equity financing activities. The team assists with trade booking, reconciliations, and data entry, while preparing reports, monitoring market activity, and researching equity finance strategies to optimize performance. In addition, the department manages collateral and oversees administrative documentation to maintain compliance and operational integrity. By shadowing experienced team members and collaborating across trading and operations, the Equity Finance team reinforces the company’s commitment to precision, transparency, and proactive issue resolution, supporting liquidity and financing solutions for institutional clients in global markets.

Purpose of Role

The Equity Finance Intern serves as a key support resource for trading and operations teams, ensuring accurate trade booking, reconciliations, and timely data entry for equity financing activities. This role also involves preparing reports, monitoring market activity, and researching equity finance strategies to assist decision-making. Additional responsibilities include collateral management, maintaining administrative documentation, and providing desk support to streamline post-trade processes. Acting as a liaison within the capital markets environment, the position emphasizes precision, proactive issue resolution, and collaboration to maintain operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

In today’s fast-paced and highly regulated financial markets, effective equity finance operations are essential to maintaining liquidity and supporting client strategies. By delivering accurate processing, timely reporting, and proactive risk management, the Equity Finance team safeguards market integrity and reinforces the firm’s reputation for operational excellence. This role serves as a strategic partner to trading and operations, ensuring seamless execution and superior client experience across global equity financing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide desk support for trading and operations teams.
  • Assist with trade booking, reconciliations, and data entry.
  • Prepare reports, monitor market activity, and research equity finance strategies.
  • Assist with collateral management and administrative documentation.
  • Shadow team members to learn capital markets processes.
  • Stay informed on regulatory developments and industry best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges and regulatory bodies.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with Marex’s Code of Conduct.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
