Purpose of Role
The Capital Markets – XFA 2, Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Intern supports trading floor operations while gaining broad exposure to multiple products and strategies across the SPX pit, VIX pit, and Equities/Flex desks. The role is responsible for observing and assisting with trade processing, clearing, and settlement activities, and for supporting traders and operations teams through accurate data entry, trade verification, and reconciliation tasks. In addition, this role helps maintain reporting and documentation for internal stakeholders and contributes to ad hoc projects that enhance trading operations and process efficiency. The role also provides hands‑on learning of CBOE products—including index options, volatility products, and equity derivatives—and offers opportunities to participate in discussions on market structure, liquidity, and risk management to build a strong foundational understanding of trading dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through the SPX pit, VIX pit, and Equities/Flex desks to gain exposure to different trading operations and strategies.
- Observe and assist with trade processing, clearing, and settlement activities on the trading floor.
- Learn about various CBOE products, including index options, volatility products, and equity derivatives.
- Support traders and operations teams by helping with data entry, trade verification, and reconciliation tasks.
- Participate in discussions on market structure, liquidity, and risk management to understand trading dynamics.
- Assist with ad hoc projects related to trading operations and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of assigned tasks and contribute to reporting for internal stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, business analytics, cybersecurity, economics, or mathematics.

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship, including, but not limited to, F-1, J-1, and M-1 visa holders, as well as individuals on CPT or OPT.
