Location: New York, NY, United States

Corporate Finance Analytics ("CFA") is part of the Financial Analysis group of JPMorgan Chase. The team provides financial analysis and perspective to senior management to support decision-making on high-profile, topical issues. 

As a Senior Associate on this team, you will develop a firmwide perspective of how JPM operates across its businesses and its dynamics within the financial services industry, achieve a solid understanding of key strategic frameworks/ financial concepts and how they are applied at the firm, and learn about the overall financial industry and JPMs competitors, while serving as a leader to the team by taking a lead role in projects, deliverables and overseeing junior teammates contributions.

Job responsibilities:

  • Drive the analysis, data charts and fact validation for the Chairman & CEO Letter to Shareholders, coordinating with many teams and business partners across the firm, while also being able to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
  • Serve as a lead reviewer on quarterly and ad-hoc competitor analysis, earnings coverage and research, owning the deliverables end-to-end while ensuring deliverables meet the highest standards by critically evaluating methodologies, challenging assumptions, and providing constructive feedback
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis for high-priority and topical issues for senior management
  • Conduct ad-hoc and monthly valuation analysis, along with a clear understanding of different valuation techniques (e.g., Dividend Discount Modeling)
  • Aid in data preparation for external and internal events/conferences, e.g., Investor Day
  • Own and manage weekly and/or monthly firmwide financial reporting, along with ad-hoc reporting asks from senior management
  • Become proficient in systems such as FactSet and Capital IQ for competitor research, financial analysis, the Chairman & CEO Letter to shareholders, and other ad-hoc requests
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for senior management, including ad-hoc analysis, presentations for townhalls, and other BAU reporting
  • Integrate internal AI/ML tools into competitor coverage and other financial reporting, improving efficiency and quality of output
  • Consistently evaluate processes and recommend enhancements
  • Aid in mentoring, teaching and developing talent across the team

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 5 years professional experience in a similar role (e.g. Planning and Analysis, Investor Relations, Corporate Finance)
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Able to manage projects end-to-end with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams 
  • Ability to generate new ideas for the improvement of internal processes

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, economics, sciences, or engineering preferred
  • FactSet experience
  • Capital IQ experience
