Trade Commodity Finance (TCF) focuses on supporting traders engaged in the origination, processing, wholesale distribution & logistics and marketing of commodities across the energy, metals and agriculture commodity sectors.  

Through a deep-rooted global network, TCF maintains a leading position in the market, offering tailored financing solution to commodity trading businesses.

Overview: The TCF internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the dynamic world of commodity financing. Interns will support key TCF activities within the client-facing Front Office Team, working closely with various internal stakeholders.

Interns will be immersed in a collaborative environment that fosters learning and will gain invaluable experience into the workings of a global financial institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

Front Office

Client Management

  • Together with the Account Officer (AO), you have the responsibility to help the AO in managing banking services (including transactional trade finance products) offered to clients (or prospective clients)

  • Liaise with clients within the portfolio in deal management / transaction requests and ensuring that proposed deals are in conformity of the banks risk appetite and/or approved credit facility parameters

  • Work closely with relevant product including Middle Office, Risk, Operations, Financial Markets, among others) to ensure smooth and timely execution of transactions, and timely completion of credit reviews/credit modifications

  • Assist in credit & operational tasks including credit reviews, customer due diligence management, call reports, covenant monitoring and management reporting

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects or assignments, reporting, commercial and clients meetings where necessary

What are the skill and qualification requirements of the role?

  • Minimum GPA of 3/4 or equivalent

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to execute tasks efficiently

  • Resourceful and proactive mindset to learning and problem solving

  • Positive attitude in dealing with challenging and difficult situations
