As a Design System Designer for INGs Unified Design System, you will help shape and scale a cohesive design language across web, iOS, and Android platforms.

Youll actively engage with distributed design and engineering teams across Retail, Wholesale, and Business Banking, driving alignment, energy, and consistency across INGs global ecosystem. Your work will directly contribute to delivering a frictionless and high-quality digital banking experience.

We are looking for an outgoing, collaborative designer who thrives in dynamic environments, someone who brings energy into teams, confidently shares ideas, and actively builds strong partnerships across disciplines.

What youll do:

  • Drive the evolution of a mature, enterprise-scale design system, including:

  • Component libraries, patterns, and design language evolution

  • Data visualization, motion design, and interaction patterns

  • Actively champion and embed AI into design workflows to improve speed, scale, and quality

  • Facilitate alignment through workshops, discussions, and active collaboration across teams

  • Translate complex requirements into clear, scalable, and reusable design solutions

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Product, Research, Brand, Content, DesignOps) to ensure adoption and impact

  • Advocate for consistency and quality across platforms while aligning with INGs brand guidelines

  • Strengthen and promote design system adoption through clear documentation and communication

  • Play an active role in the global ING design community (350+ designers) by sharing knowledge and driving engagement

Who you are:

  •  An energetic and communicative designer who enjoys collaborating, presenting, and influencing stakeholders

  • A confident storyteller, able to clearly articulate ideas, decisions, and design rationale

  • Proactive and ownership-driven, naturally taking initiative to move work forward

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional, and international environments

  • Someone who enjoys connecting people, building alignment, and driving momentum

Your profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design, with strong visual design expertise

  • A hybrid UX/UI designer with:
    - Strong visual craft and attention to detail
    - Deep understanding of interaction design and user experience principles

  • Proven experience contributing to enterprise-scale design systems, including:
    - Design tokens
    - Component libraries
    - Documentation and governance

  • Fluent in Figma and modern design tools

  • Experience in integrating or leveraging AI in design workflows

  • Strong knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design

  • Experienced across the full design lifecycle, including leading workshops and stakeholder engagement

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and navigating ambiguity
