Report to Hang Seng China (HACN) CFO.

A key advisor to the CFO and Chief Executive (CE), responsible for developing, communicating, and executing HACN’s strategic initiatives.

Principal responsibilities

  • Strategic Development
    • development and programme management of HACN Strategic Plan and mobilisation of Global Business (GB)/Global Function (GF) to execute the Plan
    • formulate the HACN’s medium term strategies, support execution, coordination, tracking and evaluation according to the Bank’s strategic planning framework
    • lead articulation and mobilisation to achieve strategic priorities
    • lead strategic business studies that are cross-Businesses, Functions and/or geographies in nature, derive actionable insights and make appropriate recommendations to the Bank’s senior management
  • Executive Support
    • support key activities of HACN CE including but not limited to CE scorecard, governance papers, strategy reports and presentation materials for external and internal meetings
    • management of HACN CE’s key stakeholder (incl HACN Board, Hang Seng HK(HASE), HSBC Group) and external engagements
    • support HASE Chief of Staff (COS) to develop, execute and moblise all mainland China and cross boundary related strategic
  • Business Management
    • establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the progress of strategic initiatives
    • provide regular updates and insights to the leadership team
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence
    • conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, regulatory changes, competitive landscape, and macroeconomic factors to identify opportunities and risks
  • Special Project Leadership and Management
    • lead and manage critical, high-priority strategic projects as assigned by the CFO/CE
  • Build, lead and develop teams; Coach and mentor team members; Uphold team members values and behaviours
  • Lead various department administrative and internal control responsibilities as per Group and Bank’s requirements

Requirements

• University degree with good knowledge in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline;

• Over ten years of corporate strategy, strategy consulting, corporate development and Chief of Staff in financial services

• Strong generalist problem-solving skills with strong conceptual, highly structured and analytical capabilities to deal with ambiguities

• Strong project leadership skill with a track record in leading and mobilising cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities

• Strong written communication, oral presentation and interpersonal skills; Excellent ability to articulate conceptual ideas and strategic directives to a wide range of audience and in particular c-suite executives

• Good knowledge of banking business models, organisation and operations; exposure to Mainland China business, transactional banking, wealth management, RMB and cross-border business, strategic partnership

• Committed, self-motivated and action-oriented personality with strong ownership to drive business performance and the success of strategy development and implementation; Ability to build a trusted-advisor relationship with working partners and senior executives

• Good leadership experience in building teams, developing talents and instilling right values and culture

• Well-versed in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint; experience in modelling an asset

• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Mandarin; Fluence in Cantonese is highly preferred

• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
