We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Strategic Execution and Delivery within the Group Chief Controls Oversight Office (GCCOO).
The GCCOO is a new oversight structure being set up to simplify and improve the effectiveness of controls through a centralised approach and proactively manage underlying risk in the First Line of Defence (1LOD).
This role will give you the unique opportunity to drive and shape large-scale, complex change initiatives that directly impact HSBC’s global control environment and operational excellence. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, the role empowers you to challenge conventional thinking, prioritise strategic opportunities, and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers, colleagues, and the organisation. In this role, you will:
- Driving and Delivering Complex Change: Leading large-scale, complex change initiatives from design through to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and desired outcomes for customers, colleagues, operations, and regulatory/financial requirements.
- Advising and Challenging Senior Leaders: Acting as a trusted advisor to senior executive leaders, constructively challenging conventional thinking, identifying opportunities, and helping to prioritise and execute change needs.
- Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement: Streamlining processes and driving operational excellence within the Group Chief Controls Oversight Office (GCCOO) through continuous improvement initiatives and capability uplift.
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, securing executive buy-in, and working collaboratively across teams to ensure seamless delivery of priority programmes.
- Managing Risks, Resources, and Performance: Overseeing risks, issues, and dependencies; ensuring teams have the right skills; managing costs, headcount, and strategic partner performance; and using measurement and insight to inform activities and ensure business outcomes are achieved.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Driving and Delivering Complex Change: Leading large-scale, complex change initiatives from design through to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and desired outcomes for customers, colleagues, operations, and regulatory/financial requirements.
- Advising and Challenging Senior Leaders: Acting as a trusted advisor to senior executive leaders, constructively challenging conventional thinking, identifying opportunities, and helping to prioritise and execute change needs.
- Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement: Streamlining processes and driving operational excellence within the GCCOO through continuous improvement initiatives and capability uplift.
- Managing Risks, Resources, and Performance: Overseeing risks, issues, and dependencies; ensuring teams have the right skills; managing costs, headcount, and strategic partner performance; and using measurement and insight to inform activities and ensure business outcomes are achieved.
- Data Analytical Skills: Experience in conducting rigorous data-driven analysis and developing impactful materials for senior executive consumption aligned to storytelling and being able to bring the numbers to life.
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, securing executive buy-in, and working collaboratively across teams to ensure seamless delivery of priority programmes.
The base location for this role will be London and with a hybrid working pattern.
