Controllers Engineering

Controllers Engineering is responsible for designing and implementing solutions that support financial measurement and reporting, including revenue, balance sheet, liquidity and capital. We also help meet the firms global regulatory financial reporting obligations and build tools that drive efficiency and consistency across controller functions.

 

Our Impact

Controllers Engineering is responsible for designing and implementing solutions to manage the firms P&L, measure and monitor the firms capital, balance sheet and liquidity metrics, and regulatory obligations across the globe. Our teams (based across Americas, EMEA and Asia) develop and manage the platforms, calculation engines, and analytical tools that controllers, risk management, and deal-making teams use to project, monitor and report externally to regulators for both regular business activity and stress scenarios.

 

Your Impact

You are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of mission-critical platforms and creating solutions ranging from deterministic automation to agentic workflows. Our team of engineers builds solutions to the most complex problems, developing cutting-edge software and platforms that form the core of our key business and enable transactions to move in milliseconds. We provide real-time access to essential information and process millions of data points daily to inform firm-wide market insights and strategies. Your role is to create, own and continuously improve these solutions, driving their growth and impact throughout the organization, championing engineering best practices and driving organizational change to maximize their impact. 


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable cloud-native business systems
  • AI driven spec driven development SDLCs to solve complex financial and technical problems. Produce technical designs, testing strategies and implementation plans.
  • Manage end-to-end systems development in an Agile environment, from requirements analysis through coding, testing, UAT, implementation and maintenance.
  • Build and maintain key financial metric calculation models and associated infrastructure to support forward-looking business strategies and decisions in an evolving regulatory landscape.
    Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders globally, across multiple divisions of the firm.
  • Build reusable solutions and identify opportunities for cross-divisional collaboration.
  • Contribute to data modelling and curation.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Hands-on programming experience in Java or Python
  • Strong analysis and design skills, plus knowledge of data structures, algorithms and performance-oriented design.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and business audiences, and comfortable working with multiple global stakeholders.

 

Expert Knowledge in One Or More Of

  • Experience of using Agentic AI coding tools - e.g. Claude Code, Co-Pilot Agent Mode, Devin
  • Experienced with Cloud Technologies ideally AWS e.g. S3, SQS, Lambda, Fargate
  • Basic RDBMS knowledge
  • Experience with data modelling and curation for large-scale datasets

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge or interest in investment banking or financial instruments
  • Experience with big data concepts, such as Lakehouse, ETL data pipelines (e.g. Spark, AWS Glue)
  • Experience with near real time and event-based systems like Kafka
