Minara Resources has an opportunity for a Leading Hand to join our established and dedicated team in the Light Vehicle Workshop.

Minara Resources is Australias largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WAs northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. We are a diverse, dedicated and driven workforce, building a sustainable business today with a focus on tomorrow.

Minara Resources is wholly owned by Glencore, one of the worlds largest globally diversified natural resources companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Glencore employs over 145,000 people operates around 150 operating mining and processing sites, oil production assets and agricultural facilities in over 35 countries.


The Role

The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for oversight of a team of Automotive Technicians. 

You will be responsible for:
  • Oversee Light Vehicle Workshop assets and services, delivering efficient maintenance to customers
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure quality products, investigating and resolving issues as needed
  • Maintain MMO's light vehicle fleet and ancillary equipment to high standards
  • Enforce safety protocols, meeting Safety Leadership KPI targets
  • Support change management and margin-improvement projects for the line manager
  • Set and track continuous improvement targets, ensuring up-to-date job procedures within the team


About You

This role would suit an enthusiastic, technically proficient supervisor. You will also have:

  • 5+ years as an Automotive Technician
  • Expertise spanning 5+ years specifically on Toyota-class range of vehicles
  • Proficient in integrated management systems, word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets
  • Experience or aptitude with Oracle or similar business systems.
  • Effective communication across all levels
  • Confident communication with external stakeholders and vendors
  • Leadership ability demonstrated within a small team
