Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for an experienced Shift Laboratory Technician to join our established and dedicated team.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australias largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WAs northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. We are a diverse, dedicated and driven workforce, building a sustainable business today with a focus on tomorrow.

Murrin Murrin Operations is wholly owned by Glencore, one of the worlds largest globally diversified natural resources companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Glencore employs over 145,000 people operates around 150 operating mining and processing sites, oil production assets and agricultural facilities in over 35 countries.


The Role

The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for analysing process control samples and providing analytical results to the processing plant to ensure efficient production. 
You will be responsible for:
  • Production of high quality data
  • Delivery of results within specified turn-around times
  • Completion of instrument and general maintenance tasks
  • Adherence to quantitative analysis procedures and work instructions

About You

This role would suit a driven and analytical thinker that is looking for a new role where no two days are the same. You will also have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Analytical Chemistry (TAFE Certificate, diploma or university degree)
  • Significant experience working within an analytical laboratory
  • ICP-OES experience preferably on Perkin Elmer instruments
  • XRF experience
  • Experience with classical wet chemistry analytical techniques; and
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
