Senior Manager Record to Report (RTR) Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead end-to-end Record to Report (R2R) operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to close timelines.
  • Lead preparation and review of management and statutory financial reports in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Drive governance, internal controls, and compliance with SOX, GAAP/IFRS requirements.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and elimination processes across entities.
  • Lead balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, and timely resolution of variances.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders (FP&A, Controllers, Business teams) to drive reporting accuracy and insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and process optimisation.
  • Oversee audit activities and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
  • Lead and mentor RTR teams, ensuring high performance, capability building, and delivery excellence.

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading Record to Report (RTR) / General Accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, and accounting principles.
  • Experience in shared services / GBS / BPO environment.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP platforms such as SAP / Oracle / Blackline.
  • Strong stakeholder management and team leadership experience.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong financial and accounting acumen.
  • Ability to manage large teams and complex delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Focus on process improvement and operational excellence.

 

Technical Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of RTR processes including journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP / IFRS and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP /  Blackline) and reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel and financial data analysis skills.
  • Exposure to automation tools (RPA, workflow tools) is an advantage.

 

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage deadlines under pressure.
  • High level of ownership and accountability.
  • Collaborative and cross-functional working style.

 

Eligibility

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (CA / CPA / ACCA / CIMA) preferred.
  • 1519 years of relevant experience in RTR / Finance operations.
  • Experience in managing teams in a global/shared services setup preferred.
