About the Role


We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate / Associate to join our International Arbitration team based in Hong Kong or Germany.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Advising clients on various aspects of contentious, particular international arbitration proceedings, from pre-arbitral strategy through to enforcement of awards
  • Conducting legal research and preparing memoranda
  • Drafting and reviewing pleadings, written submissions, witness statements, and expert reports
  • Managing document review and disclosure exercises
  • Assisting with the preparation and conduct of hearings, including witness preparation and cross-examination support
  • Engaging with arbitral institutions and managing procedural aspects of arbitration proceedings
  • Advising on the recognition, enforcement, and challenge of arbitral awards
  • Supporting business development initiatives, including pitches, client alerts, thought leadership, and training programmes
  • Mentoring and supervising junior associates and trainees, as appropriate

About You

  • You have relevant, post-qualification experience in international arbitration and disputes, preferably working within an international law firm with the responsibilities listed above for at least 2 to 3 years
  • You are a civil law qualified lawyer, preferably in a continental European jurisdiction, and additional common law qualifications are welcome
  • Fluency in English and (Mandarin) Chinese is required, additional European languages are welcome
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, team work, and willingness to learn
