We are looking for a junior lawyer to join our Finance & Projects (F&P) team in Beijing. Our team in China has won consecutive Deal of the Year awards every year for the last decade and has received recognition including Banking and Finance (Foreign Law Firm of the Year) and Banking and Finance (Foreign Lawyer of the Year).
The Role
Our F&P team advises on all aspects of project development and finance across energy, infrastructure and resources sectors across the world. Our work covers the full life cycle of projects, including project development and investment, financing, public-private partnerships, restructuring and project related disputes. We act for investors, lenders, governments, contractors and other stakeholders on greenfield and brownfield projects globally.
From day one you will be involved on high-profile complex matters across the full lifecycle of projectsfrom initial structuring and financing through to executionwhile providing commercially focused, practical advice and collaborating closely with our people around the world.
Main duties and responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to work with high-calibre partners and senior lawyers in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide spectrum of cross border matters, both transactional and contentious. We also provide exposure to our international network and support personal and professional development.
About You
- 1-3 years post-qualification experience.
- Proactive approach and desire to be a core member of a market leading team.
- Ambitious, self-driven, commercially minded and dedication to technical excellence.
- Excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and legal project management expertise.
- Excellent client manner and ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Interest in exploring opportunities to leverage AI to improve delivery of client service.
- Excellent English and Mandarin, Chinese.
