Full Job Description

The firm's in-house tax team seeks a Tax Manager to take on an interesting and varied role which is central to ensuring that the firm continues meets its global tax reporting obligations.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of 4 tax professionals The team sits within the firm's wider Accounts department of c. 70 individuals.

You will be responsible for preparing the partners' annual tax reserves, involvement in our partner tax compliance process and assisting with other key tasks which are pivotal to the team's continuing success.

What you'll do

  • Preparation of the detailed annual tax reservices for all global partners - including international profit sources and DTR.
  • Handling UK corporation tax compliance for the firm's service company and other corporate entities.
  • Facilitating our international entity and partner tax filings through provision of underlying information and analysis to our external tax advisers.
  • Assisting with our UK partners' tax affairs through ownership of a small portfolio; includes responsibility for preparing tax returns and dealing with ad hoc advisory matters.
  • Dealing with withholding tax queries across the global firm.
  • Identifying, researching and resolving technical issues across a variety of areas including VAT and employment taxes.
  • Ensuring technical knowledge is kept up-to-date and shared across the team.

About you

  • Articulate and professional in dealings with key stakeholders across the global firm.
  • Excellent written communicator with ability to flex style.
  • Strong client service ethos.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven ability as a self-starter with confidence to sign-off where appropriate.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Willingness to take on new work, develop their skillset and assist the wider team.
  • Strong decision-making ability and organisational skills.
  • Practical in approach.
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing, with a positive outlook.
  • Willingness to undertake an element of international travel is preferred but not essential.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Several years' mixed tax experience with either a Big 4/Top 20 accountancy firm or the in-house tax team of a professional services firm.
  • Experience of international tax issues.
  • Educated to degree level.
