Job Title Senior Consultant - Data & Analytics
Location Brisbane
Description

Ashurst Risk Advisory was created to respond to client demand and is designed to provide risk expertise that complements Ashurst's core legal services.

We provide the opportunity to work with an expertise-led team that has been consistently growing since its inception, and is dedicated to collaboration, diversity, transparency and innovation. Our vision is to create a unique culture in the consulting market based around a flat, collaborative structure that offers everyone the opportunity to work closely with Directors, Partners and clients on engagements. This means you have on the job training with your leaders, direct involvement with business development, clear recognition for your performance, and greater career opportunities.

The Opportunity

As a result of continued growth our Data & Analytics team is looking to hire Specialists (equivalent to a Consultant/Senior Consultant in Big4 consulting) to grow our advanced analytics, modelling, and digitised risk solution offerings in Australia.

We support our clients by working in close collaboration with our legal counterparts and teams across Risk Advisory to focus on how data and analytics can be used to deliver a best-in-class legal-led consulting service.

During a regular week as a Specialist, you might:

  • Develop deep analytical and insight driven solutions for a client and showcase the results to their stakeholders.
  • Build and refine analytical models, tooling, and digitised solutions to support client risk management objectives.
  • Deploy analytics to support remediation activities, including wage compliance, disputes, and conduct-related matters.
  • Collaborate with experts across Ashurst to define and build a strategic capability or client opportunity for the data and analytics practice.

As a Specialist, you will also support Partners, Directors and Executives to identify and execute business development activities to build the Ashurst Risk Advisory brand, including owning the creation of proposals.

Please review the job description attached to the role on our careers page for more detail on the role and what we can offer you - http://careers.ashurst.com/

We are interested in hearing from you if:

  • You are an experienced consultant with demonstrated capability and expertise in advanced analytics, model development, or building digitised solutions to manage risk.
  • You have 3-4 years' experience, either in a data analytics, data science, or quantitative risk role in a major organisation, or a client facing role within a well-respected consulting firm.
  • You're excited about using your data and analytics expertise to solve a diverse range of client problems with new, unique and inventive solutions, and assist in the growth of a unique and 'first to market' practice.
  • It's desirable if you're experienced and comfortable with the common tools in this space. We typically work with Python, SQL, Alteryx, and cloud platforms, alongside visualisation tools such as PowerBI or Tableau. Experience with workflow automation, version control, or data engineering platforms is also valued - but we're open to equivalent toolsets.

What makes Ashurst Risk Advisory a great place to work?

  • Flexible work options
  • Market leading parental leave of 26 weeks paid leave irrespective of gender
  • Health and wellbeing benefits, gym membership and corporate health plans
  • Genuine opportunities to grow your career through secondments or global opportunities,
  • Extensive Learning & Development opportunities including tailored professional development for all employees, coaching, mentoring and study support for further education.
  • We have a strong commitment to social impact, demonstrated by our extensive volunteering opportunities, as well as our award-winning social inclusion and mobility programs.
  • We are committed to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

We value diverse perspectives at Ashurst, so even if you don't feel you meet all of the requirements, we still encourage you to apply.

If you require any support and adjustments to participate equitably in our recruitment process or in the workplace, we encourage you to contact: globalresourcing@ashurst.com for a confidential conversation.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply directly to Ashurst. We prefer to talk with you personally and are not accepting applications from recruitment agencies.
