We have an exciting opportunity for an Email and Digital Marketing Product Manager to join the Marketing team, based in the A&O Shearman Belfast office.

Marketing Team Belfast

The business development, marketing, and communications team is integral to the setting and achievement of the firms global client strategy, which includes guiding the partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming the clients trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep, institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced law firm among the global elite law firms. The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central groups, such as communications, and the professionals working in local offices, practice groups, sectors, and clients.

What you will do
The email and digital marketing manager has responsibility for the daytoday ownership and ongoing improvement of some of the firms core digital marketing platforms, with a particular focus on email marketing and content distribution.

The role-holder will set best practice, and make complex tools work better at scale. They will turn business needs into practical, governed and welladopted solutions, working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders across the firm. This role plays a key part in defining how platforms should be used, embedding standards, and helping the business get more value from its marketing tech investments.

Core focus:
  • Owning and improving the firms email and contentrelated marketing tech platforms
  • Acting as a centre of expertise for email marketing best practice, governance and platform usage
  • Improving consistency, quality and adoption of platforms across regions and teams
  • Translating business and marketing needs into clear platform standards, configurations and improvements
  • Working at scale balancing global consistency with practical, realworld use cases

Platform ownership
  • Daytoday ownership of Vuture (email marketing) and Passle (blogging platform), with primary responsibility for their use, configuration, governance and evolution
  • Ownership of additional marketing platforms (e.g. Ceros, Hanzo, content aggregators)
  • Shaping platform standards, documentation and ways of working to support consistent, compliant and effective use
  • Managing integrations with other systems (including CRM), working with IT and technical teams as needed
  • Managing relationships with platform vendors and support partners
Products:
Email marketing expertise (Vuture)
  • Defining and maintaining email marketing best practice, including governance, standards and quality thresholds
  • Managing and optimizing the ongoing integration with CRM
  • Acting as a trusted adviser on complex email marketing scenarios, such as:
    • advanced segmentation and targeting approaches
    • testing strategies and optimisation methods
    • deliverability and consent considerations
  • Reviewing patterns and performance insights to inform recommendations and improvements
  • Supporting the delivery team by setting clear, practical standards they can confidently operate within
Passle (content publishing and distribution)
  • Defining and embedding best practice for content creation, workflows and quality standards
  • Supporting adoption and effective use of the platform by content owners and contributors
  • Establishing appropriate metrics and insight to understand engagement and value
  • Working with stakeholders to improve how Passle integrates with the wider digital and marketing-tech ecosystem (e.g. web, email, CRM)
Secondary platforms and channels
In addition to email (Vuture) and Passle, the role has primary ownership of a small number of related digital marketing tools and channels, including:
  • Ceros, used for interactive and campaignled content
  • Hanzo, supporting web archiving and compliance requirements
  • External content aggregators (e.g. Lexology, JD Supra)
For these platforms, the focus is on:
  • Setting and maintaining clear standards and ways of working
  • Supporting effective and compliant use by other teams
  • Monitoring usage and performance to inform recommendations and improvements
  • Acting as a subjectmatter escalation point and liaising with vendors where needed
General digital marketing advisory and best practice
  • Building and maintaining guidance, training materials and documentation for platforms in scope
  • Supporting global and local teams to use platforms effectively and appropriately
  • Ensuring platforms are used in line with data protection, consent and information security requirements
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex platform or usage issues
  • Working closely with marketing, business development, IT, data privacy and external suppliers
  • Advising on new use cases, enhancements and integrations for digital marketing platforms
  • Keeping up to date with marketing-tech and email marketing trends, and identifying practical opportunities for improvement
What you will have
  • Proven experience (5 years+) owning and managing enterprise scale email and MarTech platforms, ideally Vuture but other enterprise platforms are desirable
  • Strong understanding of email marketing best practice, governance and quality considerations
  • Experience working within a broader MarTech ecosystem, including CRM integrations and data flows (experience with Microsoft Dynamics an advantage)
  • Experience of using business intelligence tools like Power Bi to aggregate, report on campaign, channel or client trends/analysis
  • Comfort operating in complex organizations, balancing standards with real world usability
  • Experience working with external vendors or platform partners
