About the Department

The Investments Campaigns, Sponsorship and Events Team are focused on building momentum for the Aberdeen Investments brand and to create consistency across our marketing touchpoints, as-well as activating our sponsorship opportunities and events in line with our overall brand and business objectives. The Sponsorship and Events part of the team is focused on strengthening our strategic event activation and delivery of sponsorship vehicles for target audiences.

About the Role

The role is to support the delivery of events and sponsorship vehicles in our key growth regions, in line with our overall brand, business and strategic growth objectives.

The role holder will support the planning and execution of high-impact events that strengthen client relationships, consistently promote the Aberdeen Investments brand, and support business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the management and delivery of a wide range of in-person, hybrid and virtual events that support our growth ambitions across all channels, with a particular focus on our key markets in the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific.
  • Delivering high quality events for our clients and internal stakeholders that are consistent with our brand and business objectives and ensure a premium event experience.
  • Onboarding and developing new relationships with event suppliers in our key growth markets and working with key supporting agencies including promotional agencies, print suppliers, 3rd parties, venues and external vendors.
  • Collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders to deliver events in-line with business goals.
  • Support with managing events budgets, timelines and logistics, to ensure all elements of the event are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Manage the invitation process, delegate lists, RSVP tracking and more through utilising event management technology platforms.
  • Manage the compliance processes for our programme events to ensure all aspects of the event are compliant and within Aberdeen Investments policy.
  • Supporting detailed post event evaluation, audience analysis, metrics and ROI.

About the Candidate:

  • Events Management Expertise: Experience in supporting the planning, delivery and evaluation of in-person, virtual and hybrid events. Experience in financial services is beneficial, but not essential. 
  • Sound understanding of how to use events technology platforms effectively: Experience using technology and marketing automation platforms to support with the delivery of events. Experience using the following tools would be beneficial: Cvent, Salesforce, Microsoft Office and Share Point.
  • Client-facing skills: Ability to engage with institutional and wholesale investors appropriately and pleasantly.
  • Stakeholder management: Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders carefully, with confidence and an approachable manner.
  • Project management: Ability to collate various workstreams and provide appropriate updates into the business, to ensure smooth delivery of events programmes.
  • Creativity: Identify opportunities to use new and exciting initiatives to engage clients and bring events to life.
  • Professional: strong problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
