Hey everyone, This stage is the point where most people start to seriously consider what degree they wish to pursue and in turn, what careers they are most likely to pursue. So here is some of the stuff I would have liked to have known when doing my A Levels – you should take particular note with regard to subject and university choice.

In this second part I will be looking at insight programmes, other key opportunities and alternative school leaver programmes. These are a must for any A Level student interested in the industry.

You will have seen the news that Credit Suisse was merged (bailed out/rescued) by its Swiss rival UBS over the weekend. This is the second bailout in as many weeks after SVB- is it 2008 all over again?

Keen to hear people's different experiences so future society committee members and career advisers can improve their offerings. I am in my final year at Bristol. I don't want to slander the name because they have some great opporunities, but frankly, neither societies nor the careers service have helped me get to the point in my career I am at today.

Sierra Leone. My post-college, London-based private equity employers asked me to assist a portfolio CEO with various aspects of managing a gold exploration company into which they had invested GBP6 million.

Curious to see how fellow professionals invest their saved up monies... personally I completely missed out on the crypto bubble (fair to call it that now and I think it’ll be even more valid going forward) but didn’t make a loss either.

Writing an economics paper re. tech. innovation in the last decade and my attention was drawn to Sweden. In addition to being the famed birthplace of Spotify, since mid-2016, it has borne 35 tech unicorns––companies valued over $1 billion––and now has the 5th largest number of potential unicorns––companies valued between $250 million and $1 billion.

People that work in the mining and exploration business typically work in shifts. I worked a five weeks on, two weeks off shift. I would fly into Sierra Leone, spend five weeks there working and then fly home for two weeks.
