About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer


In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across different business lines

  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, as well as good understanding of financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, and business process management

  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for highly complex risks associated with business operations

  • Lead and mentor Control Management project or virtual teams

  • Engage with all levels of roles across the business group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of internal controls and control policy.
  • Strong domain knowledge of Wholesale / Investment Banking Operations.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data and insights, deliver concise executivelevel messaging, and drive rapid, effective responses.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to exercise sound judgment, prioritize effectively, and escalate appropriately.
  • Demonstrated success operating in highly matrixed, enterprise environments.

  • Lead complex, crossfunctional risk resolutions and influence outcomes across multiple business lines.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Wholesale Control and Operations.
  • Mentor project and virtual teams; foster collaboration across risk, control, and operations partners.
  • Deliver actionable data insights and shape risk and control strategies, then drive execution endtoend to turn a vision into reality

Wholesale Control Strategy & Efficiency

  • Lead Wholesale efficiency and control rationalization strategies
  • Contribute to the Wholesale Control Suite Strategy, defining standards and governance for control design (e.g., makerchecker, callbacks, control minimum standards).
  • Serve as a Business Control Management (BCM) leader, applying deep product and process expertise to define risks, design controls, and establish effective governance aligned to enterprise frameworks.
  • Provide clear, actionable risk insights to executive management, including risk exposures, trends, control performance, and emerging issues across Wholesale Operations.
  • Drive Wholesalewide risk and control initiatives, ensuring alignment, consistency, and scalability across business lines and geographies.

Risk Programs & Governance

  • Lead and govern key risk programs including RCSA, Issues Management, Operational Risk Events (OREs), and ORKI/KRIs.
  • Design, implement, and monitor controls aligned to risk appetite, including rootcause analysis and durable remediation of issues.
  • Improve control documentation, including design and performance rationales, MCR narratives, and control standards.

Strategic Enablement & Change

  • Partner with Operations and Change teams to assess risk impacts of strategic initiatives, process changes, automation, and new products.
  • Embed Wholesale Control requirements into change management and automation efforts (e.g., SPARK).
  • Support internal audits and regulatory examinations with highquality, defensible risk and control outcomes.
