About this role:

We're currently seeking a seasoned Lead Systems Operations Engineer to provide advanced platform support for our Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organisation. In this role, you'll have the chance to lead complex initiatives and contribute to the strategic planning of our computer systems and network infrastructure.

As a key member of our team, you'll leverage your expertise to review and analyse complex technical challenges, making decisions on enhancements and improvements to existing systems. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering teams on change design and consulting with technical peers and managers to resolve support issues and drive new initiatives forward. With your solid understanding of technical process controls and standards, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our technology landscape.


In this role, you will:

  • Provide production support for FICC trading systems, including Electronic trading, Pricing, Booking, Risk systems.
  • Be responsible for the troubleshooting complex system and/or application issues and the deployment of code within a controlled change-management environment.
  • Review and analyse moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with a highly qualified global team in follow the sun model.
  • Work directly with Traders / Sales / MO clients to build trusted relationship and provide timely technical/functional support
  • Build automation and processes that reduce the impact of mistakes and eliminate recurring incidents


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
  • An understanding of the ITIL framework and processes for Incident, Problem, Change management. 
  • Experience in supporting trading applications (Electronic Trading, Pricing, Booking, Risk) running on Linux, Windows or Cloud platforms and proficiency navigating those environments. 
  • Understanding of complex IT ecosystem including network, storage, datacenter, database, middleware, Market Data etc
  • Knowledge of investment banking front to back workflow and financial products in Fixed Income product (Rates/ Credit cash and derivatives), Forex or Equity. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effective collaboration with trading desk and business partners. 


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electronic trading, exchange connectivity and FIX protocols
  • Experience with Cash or Derivatives products market making, pricing and risk evaluation
  • Understanding of trade life cycle and financial products, ideally Fixed Income products including Rates/Credit cash and derivatives.
  • Experience with various CI/CD and monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Grafana, JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible etc. 
  • Excellent knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl) and SQL skills with relational database or Mongo DB
  • Previous Experience as a Front Office application support is a plus.
  • Experience leveraging AIdriven monitoring, alerting, or automation tools to proactively detect incidents, accelerate rootcause analysis, and reduce MTTR in a production trading environment
