ABOUT THIS POSITION

The successful candidate will assist in providing legal support to T. Rowe Prices business operations across APAC and EMEA, with a primary focus on Asia Pacific. He/she will work closely with the Legal teams based in Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as other members of the EMEA and APAC Global Legal Advisory teams, in supporting company secretarial, funds, separate accounts and related matters. The role will involve a wide variety of predominantly asset management assignments, with core coverage in Asia ex-Japan, with occasional support in wider APAC and EMEA matters. He/she may also occasionally provide support to APAC Privacy and Data Protection, as well as APAC Intellectual Property Legal team.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ % of time

45% - Provides legal support in respect of Asia ex-Japan institutional and intermediaries clients by maintaining and updating various internal legal databases and systems, including compiling of various data points and checking content of existing and terminated agreements.

35% - Provides legal support on company secretarial matters in respect of T. Rowe Price entities in Asia ex-Japan.

15% - Provides legal support in respect of T. Rowe Price Australian unit trusts fund range and T. Rowe Price Funds SICAV fund range registered in APAC, including checking and reviewing offering documents.

5% - Providing legal support on privacy and data protection matters, in particular assisting with monitoring legal and regulatory developments in APAC.

PREFERRED (OR ESSENTIAL) QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • At least 3 years of legal experience, preferably in the asset management sector.

  • Preferably exposure in the drafting, review contracts.

  • Excellent written and oral skills. Mandarin language skill would be a plus.

  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of internal and external contacts.

  • Good organisational skills and attention to details.

WORK FLEXIBILITY

  • This role is eligible for remote work up to one day a week.

  • While the role includes occasional support on EMEA-related matters, there is no expectation to work EMEA hours.
