Job Description: 

Job Summary

As a Product Owner in our cross-functional squads, the candidate will drive the outcomes of the squad to deliver on their objectives and key results. You will build and prioritise the product backlog to achieve business goals and manage stakeholder relationships to align expectation, prioritisation and overall product roadmap.  

Strategy
   The primary purpose of this position is to develop and transform Capital Markets Products & Solutions (CMPS) product capability to provide digital channels for both clients and internal users across Private Banking and Retail Banking.
   The Bank is aiming to grow product capability through digital and self-direct channels. This Product Owner (PO) role is to drive the agile technology projects to establish a robust price discovery and execution platform. It is also required to build system interface with upstream systems (e.g. client information check) and downstream systems (e.g. booking trades into core banking platforms) to streamline operation flow and improve users (including clients) experience and frontline productivity.
   As PO, you will develop and maintain a vision for agile technology projects and be responsible for communicating the vision to the scrum team. Be responsible for agile technology projects and features from concept to final implementation. In particular,
o    have a good understanding of wealth management products, it's processes and relevance to clients.  
o    Define and own the strategic digital product vision and roadmap for the wealth management product suite.
o    Align product strategy with business goals, market trends, and client needs.
o    Develop a competitive product strategy across relevant asset classes (such as FX, equities, fixed income, structured products, OTC derivatives, funds, and insurance.)
o    Monitor market dynamics and regulatory changes, ensuring products remain competitive and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

   As PO you will work with architects, business stakeholders and development teams to ensure that business, quality and functional goals are met with each release. Be responsible for the design, usability, quality and delivery of agile technology projects and features.
   As the subject matter expert, this role is to determine business requirements, review technology project plans from the business perspective, and ensure new technology capabilities are embedded in business processes to deliver benefits. Ensure smooth execution on the ground, and communicate the changes delivered to relevant stakeholders including front office.

Business
   Review and understand key business policies and processes in Wealth Management in offering CMPS products and services to both private banking and retail banking clients. Identify critical pain-points and articulate how planned / in-flight technology projects will solve them.
   As Product Owner (PO), specialized in Digital platforms, should be familiar with the development of CMPS order management/ execution platforms and ensure that it is properly interfaced with multiple downstream booking systems.
   The PO should have strong technical knowhow to improve front office systems performance and expand product penetration according to the business development.

Processes
   The PO is the key decision maker on priorities and design decisions, and work to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned at each stage of the agile development lifecycle (when a new project is created). The PO also needs to understand both the engineering and business side of releases and be ultimately responsible for representing the end users needs.
   Provide business input on requirements to the technology project teams. Work with subject-matter experts in product teams, front office and operations on requirements (e.g., a new electronic workflow to simplify layers of checking, or to auto-populate repeated fields in client forms). Prioritise must have items vs. good to have.

   Review technology plans and design specifications, to ensure business requirements are met and that benefits will be delivered. Identify impact on critical processes within the Banks operational risk framework, and work with process owners and project teams to ensure robust controls.
   Work with technology project teams to develop test plans. Co-ordinate business users to test new platforms or technology features that are developed. Ensure final delivery meets user needs.
   Work with stakeholders in the front, middle and back offices to ensure successful go live of projects, from the business perspective. Develop training material, co-ordinate briefings, design and execute communication plans. Gather feedback post-implementation, and track benefits captured.
   Participate in project review meetings and identify/highlight any potential issue that may impact projects cost, timeline and/or scope and work with concerned stakeholders for its early resolution to bring back the project on track.
   Conduct periodic briefings to senior management on progress of technology projects, from the business perspective. Highlight issues that require resolution.

People & Talent
   Work towards strengthening the performance culture and reinforcement of accountabilities in products. Sharing the technical skills and experience with other team members.

Risk Management
   Embed a risk culture that supports the Banks strategy and philosophy for the management of risk.
   Ensure that effective arrangements are in place within WM in the region for the prevention of money laundering in line with the Group Policy and Standards, respective country regulatory guidelines and local legal requirements. In particular, ensure that the obligations on reporting suspicious activities are met.
   Ensure that Risk Management matters that are brought to the job holders attention are subject to direct remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting to the relevant Risk Committees

Governance
   At all times have an awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
   Display exemplary conduct and live by the Groups Values and Code of Conduct. 
   Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
   Lead the business to achieve the outcomes set out in the Banks Conduct Principles 
   Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

   Key markets Segment Heads, IAs and RMs
   Market/Credit/Operational Risk, Legal, Compliance, Middle Office and COO team

   Perform other responsibilities assigned by Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
   To achieve other business and non-financial objectives
   To drive the Banks strategy and franchise development
   To ensure that the business is conducted in an operationally robust environment
   To ensure compliance with regulations and controls as set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities

Skills and Experience

   Strong risk evaluation experience in Capital Markets / Wealth Management products
   An ideal candidate should have 5 years of experience in technology & business
   Extensive knowledge in financial market products

Qualifications

   Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in wealth management, investment banking, or financial services.
   Good understanding of wealth management products and asset classes (example FX, equities, fixed income, structured products, OTC derivatives, funds, and insurance.)
   Relevant knowledge of regulatory and operational frameworks in wealth management.
   Preferred: Understanding of global wealth management market trends.
