The Nashville pipeline terminal handles gasoline and distillate products for distribution to Shell customers. This terminal receives product via pipeline and ships out products via a truck loading rack. Terminal operators are responsible for all operational duties related to the receipt, storage, and distribution of its products.
What you’ll be doing
Work closely with measurement technicians and stock accounting team to ensure full compliance with Shell Measurement Policies
Conducting quality assurance sampling and testing of products
Maintain and calibrate truck rack and pipeline equipment, refined product meters, temperature probes and transmitters, control valves, strainers, injection systems, solenoids, surge relief valves, pressure relief valves, and associated facility equipment
Maintain proving schedules and execute the proving cycles to comply with all state and company requirements
Maintain all records associated with measurement, facility maintenance, and I&M manual requirements
Initiate measurement initiatives such as ticket writing, data entry, terminal and system loss/gain investigations
Be able to troubleshoot and correct equipment and stock measurement loss/gain problems
Respond to abnormal conditions at the Nashville terminal
Become a proficient user of SAP, TMS, and various other Shell systems
Required to perform periodic tank gauging
Write work permits, manage contractors, perform JSA/JHA (Job Safety Analysis/ Job Hazard Analysis), and ensure safe execution of work
Maintain compliance with company procedures and government regulations related to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) and various agency permits
Provide general maintenance and housekeeping in support of terminal assets to ensure a safe, secure, and environmentally sound operation
Handle, receive, transfer, ship, and store petroleum products via pipeline and truck
Demonstrate an ability to solve problems on loading rack malfunctions and other terminal systems
Obtain necessary measurement-related OQ (Operator Qualifications) requirements
Ability to demonstrate basic mathematical calculations for stock reconciliation
Accountability for thorough and complete compliance with company and regulatory procedures in the execution of the job such as:
Compliance with the Distribution Health & Safety Manual
Compliance with the Terminal Operations Manual
What we need from you
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
Must be at least 18 years old
Minimum high school diploma or GED is required
Familiarity with compliance environmental manuals such as the FRP (Facility Response Plan) and SPCC (Spill Prevention, Controls, and Counter Measures) Plans preferred
Previous Terminal Operations, Manufacturing Operations, or Military experience preferred
Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States is required
Willingness to work outside in inclement weather with or without accommodation
Willingness to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without accommodation
Willingness to respond to emergencies as part of the Emergency Response Team with or without accommodation; to attend to emergencies, successful candidates must reside within 90 minutes of the site or be willing to relocate to within 50 miles of the site
Willingness to work shift work, overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends
Willingness to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies

The rate for this position is $31.88/hr. - $41.13/hr. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, and internal equity.
For regular full-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
