Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 pm / 4 hours upon request on Saturday
Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Mortgage Operations ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Accountabilities
Champions a client centric culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Provides administrative and processing support within Mortgage Operations:
o Verifying the accuracy, completeness, and authorizations of all work activities.
o Completing all assigned tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
o Prioritizing adherence to the published Service Level Agreements.
o Conducting investigations to resolve exception situations, completing complex adjustments or corrections, and answering general procedural queries.
o Verifying and processing incoming requests from supported units, branches, solicitors/notaries, and other partners. Assist with customer/branch complaints as required and complete other related processing requests as assigned.
o Providing guidance and training to other team members as required.
o Performing related sundry duties as assigned, determined by day-to-day operational requirements.
Maintain adherence to established operating and security procedures:
o Adhering to established Bank regulations and procedures within assigned authority and Responsibility.
o Understanding how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
o Reporting any unusual occurrences or fraudulent activity to your direct supervisor.
o Completing all required mandatory courses and training programs.

o Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
Work in a standard office-based environment, hybrid work possible depending on team and location; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
Requires very close attention reviewing/reading material.
Pressure from meeting deadlines and situations requiring prompt attention.
Can experience significant fluctuations in volumes of work or unexpected events (e.g. system problems) which may require overtime.
