Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is Santander's global division that supports some of the world's most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, offering customised services and value-added wholesale products to best meet their needs.

The Global Banking teams main objective is to manage and support the banks SCIB client base in connection with all Santander banking and markets products. It is an established, high performing team with a key focus on managing clients and internal stakeholders to deliver against an agreed budget.

This role sits within the Global Banking Coverage Team and will allow you the opportunity to cover clients in various sectors and jurisdictions, providing continuous learning and development opportunities.

Youll be responsible for supporting Bankers within the Industrials Sector Team and the MD of the business. Each Banker manages a portfolio of clients based in the UK and youll be responsible in supporting the development of client relationships through assisting the Banker in all aspects of their job.

The difference youll make:

  • Working closely with product partners to deliver local and regional based solutions

  • Helping identify, develop, and execute new business initiatives to increase client penetration

  • Supporting the Bankers in delivering the agreed budgeted growth of the portfolio

  • Preparing client-facing documents and pitch books for meetings

  • Following up of client meetings and execution of mandates

  • Preparing credit papers for presentation at Internal Committees

  • Supporting KYC and Onboarding of new clients and maintenance of existing clients

  • Collating and presenting Management Information and reporting

The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this role.

  • Broad experience of the main product areas of SCIB: Corporate Finance, GTB, RSG, Syndicated Loans and DCM

  • Degree, or equivalent, in a numerical discipline such as Economics or Finance

  • Excellent analytical, numerical and modelling skills

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to analyse complex client financial objectives

  • Ability to develop logical and well-reasoned arguments to influence and motivate others

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Fluency in other languages such as Spanish or Portuguese

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.
