JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role:

PwC’s in-house Trustee Services team is responsible for the governance and oversight of PwC’s two Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Pensions Technician to join our team and support the trustees’ scheme administration responsibilities. While scheme administration is outsourced, this role will be pivotal in managing the relationship with our outsourced provider, handling member queries, coordinating member communications and supporting trustee decision-making through the delivery of accurate information and insight.

What your days will look like:

  • Act as the primary liaison with the outsourced administration provider, ensuring high service standards and timely issue resolution.

  • Manage complex pension queries and trustee services workflows, including mailbox and correspondence, delivering accurate and prompt responses.

  • Assist with regulatory and governance tasks, such as scheme returns, annual newsletters, meeting papers, and policy reviews for trustee committees.

  • Contribute technical expertise to trustee decisions, complaints handling, and ad-hoc projects, supporting compliance with legislation and enhancing member experience.

This role is for you if:
  • Proven experience in the pensions industry, including defined benefit schemes, pensions administration, and ideally exposure to trustee services or governance.

  • Strong technical knowledge of pensions, including scheme rules, legislation, and compliance requirements impacting administration.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach and ability to take ownership of tasks and projects.

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills, proficiency in data handling and Excel, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Experience collaborating with outsourced administrators, legal advisers, and actuaries is advantageous; professional pensions qualifications (e.g., APMI) are desirable.

What you’ll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
