JOB DESCRIPTION
Our Deals Tax team works closely with our Deals practice to advise on the tax implications of all aspects of transactions including; Mergers & Acquisition, Business Recovery Services and Real Estate. The role sits within the Private Equity Portfolio (PE Portfolio) Tax team,one of the most successful teams within PwC’s Deals Tax network. Our PE Portfolio team advises Private Equity backed businesses, working collaboratively across specialisms to drive value and help our clients succeed at all stages of the deal lifecycle. The team operates on a national basis so that no matter where individuals are located, we bring the best experts to our clients and the broadest range of opportunities to our people. Our client base is truly international and we pride ourselves on the strength of our network. Our team is fueled by open and curious minds who are passionate about their work. About the role

The role is ideal for a candidate with a strong UK corporate tax background and a solid awareness of other taxes, combined with experience in managing client accounts. While prior exposure to transaction work or the Private Equity market is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

What your days will look like 

  • Manage staff while delivering bespoke tax advisory services to PE portfolio company clients

  • Provide tax advice across a wide range of areas, including international tax and deal cycle support

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering proactive, innovative, and commercial tax solutions

  • Collaborate with specialists across tax, Transaction Services, and non-UK teams to deliver integrated advice

  • Contribute to business development by identifying and researching opportunities with new and existing clients

  • Apply technical expertise and commercial awareness to solve complex client challenges

  • Develop personal and team technical knowledge, business acumen, and industry insights

  • Share experience and expertise to support team growth and continuous improvement

The role is for you if 

  • Must possess a Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CAI) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) or equivalent international qualification 

  • UK corporate tax skills and experience as well as good awareness of other taxes (VAT, employment taxes, management taxes etc) 

  • Some transaction or PE Portfolio experience is desirable, but not essential   

  • A flexible approach to allow you to work as part of a number of client/transaction teams simultaneously 

  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and networks, both within the UK and overseas, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others 

  • Strong analytical, project management and report writing skills. 

  • An inquisitive mind and ability to solve problems as part of a diverse team 

  • Ability to use tax technical knowledge & insights in a fast paced commercial environment
