Piper Sandler is currently seeking an intern for Summer 2026 in our Technology Business Line.  This intern would work directly with our Integration and Data Management team in Minneapolis, MN.  Our human capital, technology, marketing, and other corporate support teams work with our business partners to maximize each employee. During this internship, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of data engineering and integration. Responsibilities:

  • Build data pipelines with a high degree of reliability, scalability, and security.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of data models in on-premises data warehouses.

  • Participate in new data driven initiatives to help our business partners.

  • Participate in data quality initiatives, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation.

  • Assist with the integration of data from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, Cloud services) into a centralized data platform.

  • Assist in the documentation of data pipelines and processes and communicating project progress and findings effectively.

Requirements:

  • Majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or another quantitative field preferred.

  • Excellent oral, written communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-directed and self-motivated.

  • Experience in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Scala) and querying language such as SQL.

  • Good knowledge on distributed frameworks (e.g. Spark).

  • Comfortable to experiment with innovative technologies such as generative AI.

  • Good knowledge of algorithms, data structures and OOP principles.

  • Ability to solve unique business problems and work in a collaborative team environment.

  • This internship is open to undergraduate or graduate students who graduate in December 2026 or Spring 2027 and have a GPA of 3.3 or above.
