Job Overview:
Quotient Inside is seeking a Principal Researcher to play a leading role within the Product Strategy team, bringing deep, evidence-based understanding of end users and human behavior to shape firm-wide product, capability, and AI strategy.
This role leads complex research efforts end-to-end and translates findings into clear, actionable insights that inform product direction, strategic priorities, and leadership decisions. The Principal Researcher serves as a trusted thought partner to cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring decisions are grounded in rigorous research, strong end-user empathy, and practical recommendations that drive meaningful action.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead market, qualitative, and quantitative research to inform product and capability strategy
Design and execute surveys, interviews, diary studies, desk research, and behavioral research
Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into clear, decision-ready insights and recommendations
Develop personas, archetypes, and behavioral frameworks grounded in real user contexts
Contribute directly and shape strategy decks and leadership materials with evidence-based insights
Translate research findings into implications for product direction, concepts, initiatives, and prioritization
Maintain deep end-user focus, consistently stepping into the shoes of consultants and practitioners
Partner proactively with Product Strategy, Design, and Product teams to embed insight early and influence decision-making
Experience Required:
8+ years of experience in user research, consumer insights, human-centered research, or behavioral research
Proven ability to independently lead complex qualitative and quantitative research from design through synthesis and recommendation
Demonstrated experience using surveys, diary studies, interviews, synthesis, and behavioral analysis to generate actionable insights
Experience developing personas, archetypes, and behavioral frameworks that inform product, capability, or strategic decisions
Experience translating research into clear implications, recommendations, and materials for senior stakeholders
Experience working in or with a consulting organization preferred, with a strong understanding of how consultants and consulting partners work, make decisions, and balance competing client, team, and business priorities
Technical Skills:
Advanced qualitative research leadership, execution, and synthesis across complex problem statements
Survey design and applied quantitative analysis to support decision-making
Strong research documentation, insight synthesis, and clear, compelling storytelling
Proficiency with research and collaboration tools, including survey platforms, Miro/Mural, and presentation tools
Skills and Attributes:
Deeply end-user focused, with strong empathy, curiosity, and judgment in understanding human behavior
Highly analytical and structured thinker, able to bring clarity to complex or ambiguous problems
Clear and compelling communicator, comfortable shaping executive-level narratives, materials, and discussions
Independent and proactive, able to lead research activities end-to-end and drive action from insights
Collaborative working style, with the ability to build strong partnerships across strategy, design, and product teams
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across team-oriented, matrixed environments, building strong relationships and navigating complexity with a wide range of stakeholders
