Our investment teams are working out of the Nordics, but we are keen on expanding the Investments Business Support team located in Lisbon (Oeiras).

 

About this opportunity

 

As an Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting mission critical in-depth financial analysis on companies to support our investment teams decision making. This includes collecting data from various sources (e.g., offering memorandums, company websites, etc), standardizing financial statements, extracting key metrics, analysing covenants and capital structures, and ensuring the quality of the delivered work. Additionally, you will provide operational and administrative support to the investment boutiques, trading functions, Manager Selection and Responsible Investments.

 

What youll be doing:

  • Standardize company financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) into pre-defined templates using data from offering memorandums, annual and quarterly reports and other sources
  • Extract and track key credit metrics like leverage, coverage ratios and liquidity from financial statements
  • Analyse capital structures including debt structure, debt layers, repayment schedules, interest expenses and leverage levels
  • Conduct covenant analysis by reviewing indentures and extracting limits on distributions, debt incurrence and other restrictions
  • Meet tight turnaround deadlines, from 24 hours on some primary transactions to a week on less time sensitive assignments
  • Broker Management (approval, coordination, reviews, monitoring)
  • Research Management (contracting, budgets, reviews, payments and systems)
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Manager Selection team
  • Perform Operational Risk Assessments
  • Support Responsible Investments with Proxy Voting, PRI Reporting and UK Stewardship Code Report
  • Support engagement activities by preparing and delivering engagement overviews upon request, maintaining and updating engagement data across relevant systems, and monitoring the progress of engagements

 

You will join Investments Business Support, a team of four within the Investment Office in Fixed Income & Equities at Nordea Asset Management. The role is based in our office in Quinta da Fonte (Oeiras).

  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, credit analysis or accounting
  • Proficiency in Excel

  • Ability to organize, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • Capable and motivated in improving processes by applying new tools and technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with a strong focus on accounting and financial reporting standards 
  • Familiarity with financial data sources, such as offering memorandums and company reporting
