Full Job Description
Your Team Responsibilities
MSCIs Korea Coverage team is looking for an Intern to support alternative investment data management and total portfolio analytics initiatives in Korea.
Your Key Responsibilities
Support MSCIs institutional clients in implementing their Total Portfolio Approach:
Support data management tasks including input, reconciliation, correction, and validation of alternative investment data
Assist in validating NAV discrepancies between MSCI Private Capital Transparency Data and custodian datasets
Review financial and fundamental metrics and assist in validation methodology checks
Analyze differences between internal datasets and client-provided data (e.g., Alternative Risk team of a large Korean institutional investor) and support issue resolution
Assist with data integration and issue resolution within the TPA tool such as MSCI Private i, BarraOne, and multi-asset risk models
Support verification, maintenance, and review of security-level and classification data across private debt and direct real estate investments
Collect and review cashflow data sources and structures, including assessing potential data gaps and proxy usability
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
- Basic understanding of financial markets and investment products (knowledge of alternative investments is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy mindset
- Proven experience with Excel or data handling tools (e.g., Python, SQL is a must)
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude with a proactive and self-driven approach
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and at a client site
- University student (4th year or above), recent graduate, or graduate student in Finance, Engineering, or a related field
- Fluency in Korean and English required
