Morningstar is a global leader in mutual fund and ETF data and analysis. Our editorial team produces accessible market news and research through articles, data visualizations, videos, and podcasts, operating as an independent newsroom separate from our research departments.
Our global websites attract millions of readers each month who look to Morningstar for clear insights on markets, investment ideas, and personal finance. In Europe and the UK, we publish in six languages, blending local journalism with translated and adapted content from our global team.
We are seeking a reporter who can create original articles and adapt stories for local audiences. You will have the opportunity to leverage Morningstars deep expertise to help investors and advisors navigate performance trends, new fund and ETF launches, and developments in the broader assetmanagement industry. Your work will be widely read by both retail audiences and industry professionals.
You will thrive in this role if you can turn complex financial topics into engaging, accessible storytelling and if you bring strong news judgement, data fluency, and an interest in fund and ETF trends that shape the market conversation.
Responsibilities
Publish an average of two articles per week, ranging from short commentary to indepth features on key mutual fund and ETF trends.
Build and maintain a strong network of expert commentators and industry sources.
Develop narratives around emerging investing trends, anticipating shifts in flows, performance patterns, strategies, and notable product launches.
Regionalize and adapt stories written by colleagues in other bureaus for locallanguage publication.
Review and edit translated content to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with Morningstars editorial standards.
Qualifications
Passion for writing about investing and financial markets.
3+ years of journalism experience covering markets or investing, ideally with exposure to asset managers and funds.
Strong news judgement and an eye for timely, relevant story ideas.
Demonstrated writing skills capable of engaging both retail and professional audiences.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver sameday turnaround when needed.
Curious, creative thinker with a collaborative, teamoriented approach.
Comfortable using Excel and open to learning new databases or analytical tools.
Business fluency in French, Dutch, German, Italian, Swedish or Spanish is a plus.
Base Salary Compensation Range
GBP 46,200.00-61,600.00Bonus Target:
7.5% AnnualWe expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidates qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
