Product Manager - Workplace Platforms - Analyst

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office.

Position Summary
Workplace Platforms is a division within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Platforms, comprised of the digital platforms supporting the Morgan Stanley at Work businesses-including Equity Compensation, Retirement Plan Solutions, and Deferred Compensation. The Workplace Platforms team drives and defines the digital and online experience for wealth management and corporate clients. The overall mission of the division is to create a best-in-class experience for both corporate clients and their employees (participants) as we engage them throughout their financial life journey, ultimately leading to a deepening of their Morgan Stanley Wealth Management relationship. Our approach will be highly scalable, leveraging an omni-channel strategy with an emphasis on messaging, onboarding, cross-selling, activation and servicing. Our goal will be to drive growth across all client segments, including the Mass-Affluent, with new digital capabilities.

The Workplace Platforms team defines and drives the digital, online and mobile customer experience for corporate clients and their employees. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to the strategy to deliver a differentiated experience for workplace participants.

We are seeking an emerging leader to join the Workplace Platforms team as a Junior Product Manager. You will partner and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to support the planning and execution of key initiatives that will drive execution of the Firm's long term strategy of delivering the firm and integrating a path to advice with the workplace offering. You will also assist with defining an ideal user experience across various digital platforms in support of this mission.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders to communicate changes, coordinate deliverables, track and report on progress.

  • Write requirements/epics/stories for integrating the workplace into the wealth management client experience and work closely with technology and operations partners through build and delivery phases

  • Work with cross functional teams to support the design and development of new products

  • Provide input to group product managers in order to influence and deliver compelling roadmaps that meet stakeholder needs

  • Identify dependencies and keep constituent groups informed of progress towards delivery

  • Contribute to and maintain key strategic presentation materials used to inform executive decision-making

  • Ensure appropriate implementation of risk controls based on control partner (e.g., legal & compliance) input

  • Help define and track success metrics and oversee ongoing and ad-hoc data reporting requests

Skills

  • 2+ years as a product owner/manager/analyst

  • 2+ years of experience with technology development process and lifecycle (Agile/Waterfall)

  • Strong understanding of the corporate stock plan business and operating paradigms

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the organization

  • Ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple stakeholder groups (including end users) to enable decision making

  • Strong technical writing skills to assist with user story/requirement writing

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to assist with data analysis and building presentations for senior management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take a problem statement and solution it with a set of clear and concise business rules

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $58,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
