This role sits within the Strategy & Execution function on the WM Platforms Analytics team which across the Platforms Organization delivers scalable data, analytics and reporting solutions that unlock insights and accelerate decision making. This requires an individual with strong data modeling and analytical skills, along with the ability to visualize data in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, strong communication and presentation skills are also critical to success in the function as we collaborate with many partners to bring our work to life.

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Translate business needs into data and reporting requirements that support developing platforms to better serve our Clients, Advisors and Support staff

  • Develop and implement data and reporting strategies that align with our business and Organizational objectives

  • Drive data-driven decision-making by delivering insights that improve client segmentation, personalization and investment performance

  • Build dashboards and visualizations to monitor KPIs and platform engagement metrics

  • Partner across the Organization to ensure data supports end-to-end processes

  • Present and clearly articulate process and rationale for proposed ideas and solutions


Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Data Science or other related field

  • 7+ years of relevant of experience in data or analytical role; wealth management industry experience a plus

  • Prior experience working with DataIku and Tableau is preferred

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables and lookup functions), along with Microsoft PowerPoint for building meaningful presentations.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and bring focus with recommendations on solving tactical and strategic challenges

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and under strict and changing deadlines

  • Strong sense of ownership, organization, communication, and accountability

  • Technical aptitude and desire to learn new applications and processes

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
