As well as personal and business bank accounts, we offer joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come beyond. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us. 

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

About the role 

We're looking for a brilliant PR and Communications Manager (16 month fixed term contract) who is passionate about their work and about what Monzo is doing. 

You'll play a key role in a busy press and communications team and support in building on Monzos reputation as a trusted digital bank that is growing at pace on the back of a strategy that has its customers at the heart. 

Reporting to a Senior PR and communications manager, you'll be supporting the execution of the trust strategy that brings together everything from launching the latest industry-first products, to consumer campaigns around scams or raising awareness about how we protect our most vulnerable customers. Youll be an ambassador for communicating brilliantly, and for obsessing about our customers and our mission. Youll be hands-on and part of a busy press office that manages a range of topics and issues. You'll be an excellent communicator who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and someone who has solid experience managing media.

Youll play a key role by

  • Supporting delivery of the trust communications strategy, managing both reactive and proactive media across areas like fraud, financial crime, security, vulnerable customers, payments and technology
  • Working across both corporate and consumer communications, promoting Monzos business priorities, product launches, milestone announcements and proactive consumer campaigns across key channels
  • Working with the teams across the business and our agencies to prepare for events, executive profiling and interviews 
  • Managing reactive press stories 
  • Monitoring, tracking and proactively analysing Monzos presence in the media
  • Mine stories from across the business that support our communications goals
  • Being an excellent team player and problem solver within a busy press office
  • Working cross-functionally with teams and stakeholders across the business to create compelling narratives and key messages across reactive and proactive projects 
  • Providing trusted advice to senior stakeholders on sensitive, complex issues
  • Pitching great stories to journalists 
  • Building and maintain great relationships across key media and the business, spotting risks and opportunities that inform our agenda 
  • Staying on top of emerging sector themes, trends and news

  • A hands-on team player who can flex across reactive and proactive work as well as both corporate and consumer

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent at communicating with the ability to manage senior stakeholders

  • A great storyteller with exceptional writing skills
