Market Connectivity Engineer - FIX Implementations

We are seeking a candidate with strong experience in financial markets technology to join our Market Connectivity team. This global team is responsible for developing and maintaining front-office trading solutions,

collaborating with brokers, exchanges, ECNs, and third-party platforms across all asset classes and regions.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role, the candidates primary focus will be on onboarding external trading teams, ensuring seamless integration of third-party trading systems with the Millennium eco-system.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 5+ years Java programming with multi-threading development experience.

  • C++ development is a plus.

  • A solid understanding of object-oriented programming is required.

  • 3+ years of financial institution experience required.

  • Strong FIX protocol knowledge is required, FIX 4.2 – FIX 5.0.

  • Knowledge of binary trading protocols is a plus.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Extensive Linux development experience required.

  • Must have a strong understanding of market structure for equities, futures, options and FX products.

  • Must have a working knowledge of networking protocols - TCP/IP & multicast.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot production issues (Level "3" support).

The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
