Business Strategy Lead

As a Business Strategy Lead at Millennium your primary responsibility will be to drive the strategic agenda by analyzing unique business opportunities and leading cross-departmental projects across all areas of the firm. Leads will analyze investment strategies and other opportunities to grow Millenniums multi-strategy platform. Projects will involve working across the breadth of the firm including our four trading businesses (fundamental equities, systematic, fixed income, and commodities), Finance, Risk Management,

Business Development, etc. We are seeking an experienced and talented individual who has developed a robust analytical skill set they can use to solve complex problems and drive informed decisions. Day-to-day this means youll have the opportunity to influence senior executives, lead projects, and hone our competitive intelligence framework. While we are definitely looking for someone technically savvy, we are also looking for someone able to flex between strategic big-picture thinking and an analytical detail-oriented focus when delivering information to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Structure complex problems into simple, easy-to-understand frameworks
  • Conduct in depth research, develop quantitative analyses and synthesize information to provide recommendations to senior leaders to drive strategic business decisions
  • Build financial models and business cases in support of key decisions
  • Manage the delivery of multiple projects while keeping all stakeholders and sponsors informed
  • Develop a detailed understanding of Millennium, its investment strategies and build comprehensive and innovative competitive and market analyses
  • Challenge work in progress, results and reorient any analyses if needed
  • Diagnose issues, prioritize and escalate when needed
  • Identify potential risks and mitigants

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience e.g.,
  • 2 years experience in investment banking
  • Or 2 years experience at a Tier 1 consulting firm
  • Or Experience in a strategy or corporate development group of a leading financial institution
  • Ability to conduct rigorous analysis (both quantitative and qualitative) necessary to frame and solve complex problems
  • Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Strong communication skills; ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on new problems, shift gears and handle multiple topics concurrently

The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individuals experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
