Full Job Description
The treasury function at Millennium covers several areas: Cash and collateral management, Financing, Liquidity Management, Margin, Financing Optimization and Counterparty Risk. The Business Analyst/Project Manager role in Treasury technology is responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of Treasury initiatives while maintaining strategic alignment with business objectives. The Business Analyst in this role will be dedicated to Financing and will be responsible for requirements documentation, project delivery, program management, domain knowledge, and collaboration with all teams involved in the software development lifecycle.
Principal Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Business Analyst supporting Financing initiatives, with a focus on strategic platform enhancements, workflow improvements, and production process support.
- Partner with Financing business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Own requirements definition and scoping for strategic IT solutions supporting Financing workflows, including preparation of business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.
- Work closely with development teams to translate business requirements into detailed specifications, clarify open questions, and support implementation.
- Manage Jira backlog, story creation, prioritization, status tracking, and release cycles across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Perform extensive data analysis to provide business transparency, identify deficiencies, validate system behavior, and support platform implementations.
- Investigate production issues and perform hands-on debugging, root cause analysis, and issue triage in partnership with Technology and business users.
- Coordinate and support testing efforts, including preparation of test cases, execution of UAT, validation of results, and tracking of issues through resolution.
- Support production roll-out activities, post-release validation, and business adoption of new functionality.
- Proactively engage on continuous improvement efforts for application design, support, and practice development efforts.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- 7+ years of hands on experience in business analysis in financial services.
- Strong knowledge of Financing, including debit financing, securities lending, margin, and related financing workflows
- Knowledge of fixed income financing, including collateral and repo, is a plus.
- Experience managing Jira, release cycles, backlog prioritization, and coordination across business and technology teams.
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to identify root causes, reconcile issues, and validate outcomes across systems and workflows.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with direct query of enterprise databases and working with large, complex data sets to answer questions and model concepts
- Strong understanding of financial products (Equity, FI, Futures, OTC, FX, etc) and financing/margin policies
- Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration as well as object-oriented design patterns and development
- Experience with development methodologies including waterfall or agile, for example
- Experience coordinating projects across multiple teams / functional areas
- Ability to communicate at detailed levels to development teams and users and executive updates to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an independent/self-starter work ethic.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individuals experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
