Risk Framework
- Support to establish and maintain the regional Risk governance Framework for M&G Global Services, completing a range of enterprise-wide risk management and compliance requirements
- Act as the second line of defence, providing independent oversight of risk management and compliance activities.
- Oversight of risk appetite and tolerance levels and adherence across GCC operations.
Risk Identification & Assessment
- Lead periodic risk assessments across the Corporate functions.
- Support the emerging risks specific to the India GCC landscape (e.g., geopolitical, regulatory, talent-related).
- Facilitate risk workshops and scenario planning exercises with business units including Change & Transformation initiatives, third-party risks
- Provide oversight on Operational Resilience including business continuity planning, crisis management and resilience testing.
Risk Monitoring & Reporting
- Develop and maintain risk dashboards and key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Provide papers for the M&G Global Risk Forum and plc, PAC & MGG Risk committees/Boards
- Support the timely escalation of material risks, events and non-compliances
Regulatory & Compliance Risk Management
- Monitor compliance with local laws and regulations (e.g., Companies Act, DPDP Act).
- Support assurance on status of compliance with local regulations within M&G Global Services
- Keep informed of status of compliance with Group compliance requirements of the Business Functions
- Support investigation of fraud investigations aligned with the Group Fraud Investigation team
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
- Serve as a trusted advisor to GCC leadership, providing risk insights and challenge.
- Collaborate with first line functions (e.g., Finance, Operations, Technology, HR) to embed risk culture.
- Liaise with global Risk and Compliance teams to ensure consistency in risk practices and reporting.
Risk Culture
- Promote a strong risk culture through training, awareness, and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement in risk processes and tools.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture aligned with global values.
- Ensure compliance to the people policies, Group Code of Conduct and embedding desired behaviours
- Be personally accountable for identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risks within your area of responsibility, including supporting formal risk management activities e.g. Risk & Control Self-Assessments and timely closure of Assurance actions
- Develop strong working relationships with Business stakeholders and Staff at functional levels to ensure efficient clearance of issues, influencing a positive risk and compliance culture
- Work with colleagues across locations within the Risk and Compliance function and the wider business to ensure that M&G Plc operates within an effective risk management and compliance framework
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of methodology across Risk & Compliance and work flexibly in support of the wider Risk & Compliance agenda, benchmarked against industry best practise
Qualification & Certifications
- Graduate/Post-graduate/MBA with at least 7 years (or more) of risk experience in Global Capability Centre, Consulting firm, with experience in Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Assurance, Internal Audit in BFSI
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. IRM Diploma in Risk Mgt, CISI Operational Risk, ACA, IRM (desirable))
- Strong knowledge of insurance and investment products, competitors, systems
- Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance and legislative environments and regulated marketplace and position of M&G within that market
- A strong sense of ethics, sound business judgment and the desire to be a business-orientated problem solver
- Strong understanding of external business standards, sharing best practice and implementing interventions where required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills required
- Strong delivery and partnership / stakeholder management skills as well as build strong relationships and work collaboratively with teams across the business
- Experience of liaising, influencing and negotiating effectively with all internal and external parties
- Strong work ethic with the highest levels of professionalism, commitment and integrity
- Pragmatic without compromising functional goals and professional requirements
- Strong knowledge of industry best practice, good networks/links with external bodies and individuals
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to handle complex projects in a multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines while delivering high quality results
- Excellent report writing, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage conflicting objectives and work to pressured deadlines
