Position Summary

The Credit Control Manager leads a team of collection specialists who investigate delinquent accounts, driving key performance metrics, while building strong relationships with internal and external business partners. This is a hands-on leadership role, focused on the daily management of the team, with a significant amount of cross functional collaboration with areas such as Sales, Billing, Order Management and Finance. The individual will provide analysis to senior leadership on critical performance metrics and will be responsible for the continuous improvement and development of the team. The role will ensure compliance with company policies and procedures to maximize free cash flow while minimizing the risk of revenue reserves.

Role Responsibilities

  • To build a high-performance culture by leading and inspiring the team to achieve at a world-class level, encouraging an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Companys internal values.

  • Establish effective partnerships with customers and internal partners, often initiating and leading sessions of partner engagement.

  • Coordinate activities of staff members, implementing strategies to increase successful collections on outstanding debt.

  • Supervise productivity of staff and quality of customer interactions to ensure performance expectations are achieved; provide relevant and timely coaching and feedback.

  • Host debt review meetings with key collaborators to ensure transparency of issues and drive resolution to problematic accounts.

  • Achieve and maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction, working closely with local Account Management.

  • Explore ways to improve cash collection efficiency.

  • Apply knowledge and expertise to provide forecasting information for central finance.

  • Create a highly engaging work environment to attract, develop and retain talent. Play a lead role in the recruitment of Credit Control staff.

  • Fully use and maintain the quality and integrity of all system data.

  • Ensure compliance of credit control policies and procedures

  • Make decisions on the handling of bad debt accounts, including referrals to outside agencies and acting as liaison on legal issues

  • Supervise the unapplied cash and credits of the region and ensure timely applications.

  • Ensure provisioning recommendations follows accounting standards.

  • Analyze AR data for trends to identify root causes and remove barriers to increased performance. Partner with relevant parties to drive improvements and identify ways to represent impact on AR for senior management reporting and action.

  • Proactively bring forth ideas to automate, standardize and simplify for continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable or related field

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Proven track record to empower and lead a team - provide quality training, performance coaching and feedback to assigned staff.

  • Ability to think strategically and deliver tactically; developing plans to improve function.

  • Proven background in establishing relationships with large international customers.

  • Experience handling effective relationships with internal partners.

  • Detailed understanding of billing to cash operational functions.

  • Demonstrated success leading accounts receivable and resolving billing issues.

  • Exceptional ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and proven track record to set and manage several priorities

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • An ability to influence clients (internal and external).

  • Ability to drive performance and ensure results delivery.

  • Understanding of the financial markets.

  • Good project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with excellent decision- making skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with exceptional skills in Excel.

  • Financial services proven experience preferred.
