KPMG is currently seeking a Manager/Senior Manager to join our Business Tax Services practice.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope; act as the point of contact for internal and external clients; build and manage client relationships
- Oversee teams of tax professionals/assistants working on client projects
- Help manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and the budget for projects
- Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice
- Offer assistance in assessing tax impact on clients, develop tax arguments to support conclusions, and suggest plans to clients
- Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm, presenting a positive image of KPMG and its leadership
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:
- Perform FAS 109 accounting for the income tax of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and non-SEC clients
- Understand and analyze the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting the taxpayer
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of experience as a tax manager with a public accounting firm; corporate tax experience in the financial services industry specifically funds/private equity and real estate
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Licensed CPA, JD/LLM or EA, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
- Proficiency in the taxation of corporations, consolidated entities, partnerships, and other flow-through entities
- Exceptional skills in reviewing 1120, 1120S, 1120-REIT and 1065 tax returns, including complex partner allocations
- Applied working knowledge of GAAP, accounting procedures, C-Corp tax regulations and ASC 740
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams; excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information
Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager:
- Minimum eight years of recent corporate tax experience with a well-regarded accounting and/or law firm
- Excellent research and writing skills
