Full Job Description
Location: Hong Kong
Job responsibilities
- Own APAC governance delivery: Lead execution of APAC data governance priorities, translating Firmwide strategy into an actionable roadmap with clear outcomes and timelines.
- Run governance forums: Manage governance routines (steerco/working groups), including agendas, materials, decisions, actions, and escalation paths.
- Drive controls & compliance: Coordinate workstreams (e.g., privacy, data storage, lineage, access/controls) to align with Firmwide policy and local regulatory requirements.
- Lead issue & risk management: Identify systemic issues, drive root-cause resolution, and manage executive communications on risks, dependencies, and decisions.
- Metrics & transparency: Define and maintain key KPIs/KRIs, dashboards, and executive reporting to evidence progress and control effectiveness.
- Influence and align stakeholders: Build strong partnerships with Front Office, Business Managers, Operations, Technology, AI/ML teams, AI Research, and Quant/QR; drive delivery through influence across teams.
- Regulatory initiatives: Lead data office-owned regulatory responses and deliveries (planning, evidence tracking, audit-ready documentation).
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelors degree (Finance, Technology, Data, or related field).
- 10+ years experience in data governance, data management, risk/controls, technology, or regulatory delivery within a leading financial institution.
- Strong track record leading cross-functional programs with senior stakeholders; able to drive decisions and execution in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of data governance disciplines (data quality, controls, privacy, metadata/lineage, stewardship, ownership).
- Excellent executive communication (clear, concise, and outcome-focused).
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; high tolerance for ambiguity and ability to operate independently.
