As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
The candidate will be an engineer of Mainframe and Midrange Compute (MMC) Performance Team.
Job responsibilities
- As a member of this results-oriented group, this individual will be responsible for Mainframe System Performance support and activities in JPMorgan Chase's z/OS environment.
- This position will work closely with several Level 3/4 engineering support organizations such as: Automation, Application Performance, Capacity Planning, DB2/IMS, CICS, MQ, WebSphere, System Software Groups, SRE Operations, Production Assurance and client development organizations that ensure high availability and delivery of quality support services.
- This individual will also need to build and support IBM IZDS/Cognos system for big data analytic, have working experiences and had written programs for SMF data processing in large environment complexes.
- Plans, organizes, directs, develops and controls technical aspects of assigned projects.
- Performs technical tasks as required by manager and projects.
- Acts as project lead on assigned project activities.
- Provides technical consulting to technical management and Lines of Business non-technical staff.
- Administrates Throughput Manager, Workload Manager (WLM) and Batch Optimizer vendor products and assists LOBs.
Required Qualifications
- Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, implementation and delivery.
- Understanding cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software language
- 5 - 10 years of solid experience in z/OS performance & capacity management
- Ability to lead/manage SMF/MXG/IzDS Data processing without any supervision
- Ability to use SQL, SAS, Cognos and performs big data analytics, Present observations & recommendations to senior management
- Monitor systems and application performance as well as managing risk to the environments
- Ability to lead, drive problem diagnostics and resolution of performance issues
- Working knowledge on Mainview/Omegamon, BMC TrueSight, IzDS and Cognos is a plus
- Working knowledge on Thruput Manager, Workload Manager (WLM) and Batch Optimizer vendor products.
