Role Description

  • Our Investments – agile teams at Deutsche Bank - Private Bank (TDI) develop and maintain applications for securities business of Private Customers. Changes are generally announced on short notice due to regulatory requirements or time to market challenges. Quality and stability has priority together with time to market.
  • By working in an Agile DevOps model, acting a pilot for Investments and actively improving the model, we achieve very high quality while continuously delivering value to our clients. Located in Germany and India, we work closely together using agile and virtual collaboration techniques and our team’s diversity to reach our goals of continuous deployment, process improvement and internalizing engineering know how.
  • As an Engineer you are responsible for designing and developing entire engineering solutions. You will employ your profound technical experience to ensure that the solutions are well architected, maintainable and built stable according to the DevOps philosophy. In the team you provide thought leadership by mentoring and coaching to less experienced team members.

Your key responsibilities

  • You are part of the agile development team, responsible for the functional analysis of epics and user stories in strong collaboration with all stakeholders (e.g. business units, operations, development team, Product Owner)
  • You will be working closely with the engineers, ensuring that the implementation aligns with business needs and architecture.
  • You be involved in the mainframe development, slowly progressing towards the Cloud migration journey of the application.
  • You would also be needed in the Java development of the application during the Cloud migration.
  • You would be supporting the product owner and subject matter experts for stabilising the application pre and postproduction.
  • You contribute to team standards, engineering best practices, quality standards and help ensuring that the team meets them.
  • You actively participate and contribute into the sprint activities and ceremonies.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • 7-14 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of COBOL, IMS-DC , IMS-DB, JCL, OPC, Java is a must.
  • Knowledge of Mongo DB, Python is an added advantage / candidate must have the willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge and experience in IMS-Connect is an added advantage.
  • Basic technical capabilities and infrastructure knowledge (e.g. Cloud Technology and mainframe migration knowledge.)
  • Experience with DevOps process workflow , Change Management.
  • Experience with tools across the Software development Lifecycle/DevOps: Jira, Confluence etc.)
  • Strong ability to manage unexpected events; control and deal with them quickly and efficiently. When confronted with a problem, you will need to collect information, analyze situation, point out solutions and apply them to solve perfectly in reasonable time.
  • Pro-active team player with very good communication and excellent English language skills for interacting with stakeholders.
  • Experience with working together with Agile/SCRUM teams and their methods and tooling.
