As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will help strengthen our engineering discipline by combining software, infrastructure, and systems to develop practical solutions to operational challenges. The team focuses on optimizing existing platforms, improving reliability, and reducing manual effort through automation. You will work alongside curious problem solvers and learn through hands-on delivery, mentorship, and collaboration.

 


 
Job responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of secure, resilient network instrumentation capabilities aligned to firmwide engineering standards.
  • Support high-availability packet aggregation and analytics services in partnership with Network Operations and Cybersecurity.
  • Assist with automation, certification, and lifecycle management for enterprise monitoring platforms.
  • Install, productionize, and support monitoring devices using approved procedures and runbooks.
  • Execute product and code upgrades in line with change and release management processes.
  • Perform testing and certification of monitoring appliances/software against performance, security, and compliance criteria.
  • Partner with customers to gather requirements and translate them into scalable instrumentation solutions.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Architecture teams on incident follow-up, bug fixes, design updates, and upgrades.
  • Integrate packet broker and analytics technologies to improve network observability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.

     

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines and 3+ years of relevant applied experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Working knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering (e.g., networking, hardware, automation, scaling/resilience, performance, integration, deployment practices).

     

  • Working knowledge of infrastructure components such as routers/switches, load balancers, proxies, firewalls, LAN/WAN, compute, storage, containers, and/or cloud services.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically and participate in incident/problem management with clear ownership.
  • Exposure to packet analysis and/or flow telemetry (e.g., NetFlow/IPFIX) using standard tools.
  • Experience implementing or operating Arista DMF or similar packet broker platforms (preferred exposure; deep expertise not required).
  • Experience with packet analytics platforms (e.g., Riverbed App Response or similar) supporting performance monitoring.
  • Understanding of secure-by-design practices and working within controlled change/release processes.
  • Ability to use telemetry to help investigate performance issues and support root-cause analysis.
 
 
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise networks across LAN/WAN/wireless/security services and major vendor platforms (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, F5).
  • Hands-on experience with routing, switching, and network security fundamentals; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP or equivalent) are a plus
  • Experience working in Agile/SCRUM delivery practices.
  • Experience implementing or operating Arista DMF or similar packet broker platforms (preferred exposure; deep expertise not required)
