 As a Fund Accounting Analyst within the  Securities Services Operations team, you will lead and manage back-office functions supporting clients and fund managers in Asia Pacific, primarily in Australia and New Zealand. You will  provide accounting services for various assets, including Unlisted Unit Trusts, Hedge Funds, and Private Equity Unit Trusts.  You will maintain high standards of client service and adapt processes to meet market and client demands.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow and supervise staff to ensure accurate, timely processing and deadline adherence.
  • Process and review transactions in the accounting book of records.
  • Oversee preparation and reconciliation of financial statements, tax returns, and other deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Sydney Financial Reporting, Tax, and downstream teams to resolve issues and respond to queries.
  • Lead projects focused on process enhancements and productivity improvements.
  • Conduct training and provide coaching to team members, ensuring adherence to procedures and standards.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements, acting as a point of contact for auditors.
  • Monitor and manage risk, implementing solutions to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
  • Provide backup coverage during staff absences and peak volume periods.
  • Respond and interact with internal and external business lines, including Fund Accounting, Technology, Senior Management, Client Services, fund managers, auditors, consultants, and clients.


 Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

  • Ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of financial markets and basic understanding of accounting and taxation principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership qualities and ability to motivate and build a cohesive team.
  • Ability to provide feedback and coaching to develop team member skills.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and escalate potential risks.
  • Effective goal-setting, planning, and time management skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of quality client service.
  • Adaptability to new work structures and processes.
  • Strong focus on risk awareness and controls.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Financial Industry. 
  • Background in Funds Services, Securities Services Operations and NAV Accounting is preferred. 
  • College degree – preferably Finance, Economics or Accountancy 
  • Understanding of custody mainframe systems and processes is beneficial.

 

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to work early morning shifts starting at 5 AM PHT.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to ensure workload completion
  • Willingness to work on weekends depending on business requirement
