Full Job Description

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Joining our team means you sit in the engine that powers Chase with insights, inspires customer-centric innovation, and solves problems in a dynamic and effective manner. Working here means joining a collaborative, supportive team. We want your diverse perspective to help us innovate the next wave of analytical products and solutions for our clients.

As the Data Scientist Lead in Consumer and community Banking, you'll need to be a strategic, analytical thinker with enough networking skills to become a trusted advisor and thought leader in the marketing space. Along with leveraging your proficiency with modern data science and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Hive, Python), you'll clearly and concisely articulate data needs and analytical findings in a way that senior leadership will find persuasive. Youll be working with marketing analytics teams across the organization to ensure that the entire organization can effectively and efficiently measure our marketing efforts. This will involve:

Job responsibilities

  • Lead role with marketing analytics teams to understand how they measure results (data, methods, and pain points) and devise meaningful strategies for keeping the metrics of a matrixed organization aligned.

  • Design and prototype key datasets that serve the needs of a broad range of stakeholders, including ensuring that data is standardized and of high-quality for the analytical use then working with our data publishing team to prioritize publishing them.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the data that AI toolsets require to answer practical marketing questions and ensuring your datasets meet those requirements

  • Develop key first user analyses with new datasets then share those results with the organization and teach others to follow in your footsteps

  • Identify how and why data issues enter our ecosystem then working across teams to create a plan to fix that problem for you and others.

  • Work closely with peers to ensure the quality of your own work as well as the teams

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Graduate or advanced degree in analytical field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, Physics), data bootcamp certification, or industry experience in analytical roles (e.g., consulting, modeling, data analysis)
  • Experience with a range of modern data science tools (ex: SQL, Hadoop, AWS, Spark, Python, R) and familiarity with quantitative techniques (ex: regression analysis)
  • Expertise in the scientific method, able to frame a non-technical business question as a testable hypothesis and explain what can or cannot be statistically proven given current or potential experiment data
  • Motivated learner eager to acquire new coding skills and discover useful tables and fields in a vast data warehouse / lake
  • Attention to detail, able to spot and correct potential flaws in a dataset or analysis combined with the ability to work in a team environment, leveraging your peers to learn and being a resource for them in turn
  • Strong time management skills, able to keep several projects on track simultaneously
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while proactively creating clarity with leadership on how time is spent and able to help others do the same

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Financial services background
  • Experience at a top tier analytics consulting firm is a benefit
  • MBA or other masters degree in a quantitative field
Unique opportunity to have meaningful impact on a large scale at a leading financial services firm
