Full Job Description

Location: Central and Western, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong

Private Wealth Alternatives in APAC represent a $1 trillion market, with $26 trillion in private wealth financial assets in the region today. Alternatives for APAC Private Wealth present an enormous opportunity for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. As a leading alternatives manager (with over $200 billion in assets under management globally across real estate, infrastructure and real assets, private equity, private credit, and hedge funds) — and as a leading asset manager for APAC financial intermediaries in mutual funds, SMAs, and ETFs, including liquid alternatives — we are powerfully positioned to bring our alternatives investment capabilities to individual investors through financial intermediaries.

As a Vice President of the Global Alternatives Client Service team, you will perform a broad range of client service activities aimed at supporting business growth, delivering exceptional client experiences to APAC clients, and partnering with a wide array of colleagues from various stakeholder groups. You will possess excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization and have an exceptional ability to drive results among stakeholders while being organized and methodical. You will be a fast learner of established procedures, a critical thinker regarding existing processes, and confident in voicing your judgments in discussions. You will work with global colleagues across various time zones and represent APAC internally. Experience in taking on key roles in complex initiatives and coordinating projects will be beneficial. You will report to the APAC Head of Funds Client Service while being part of the wider APAC Funds Client Service team specializing in Alternatives Investments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding and servicing with clients and their appointed vendors, fielding inquiries, researching requests, and coordinating appropriate responses.
  • Understand client relationships with J.P. Morgan, including global relationships and clients’ relationships with other asset managers and consultants.
  • Identify client experience improvements and efficiencies, and drive the plan to implement changes.
  • Own the front-line client experience – lead client meetings and participate in industry events as appropriate.
  • Plan and organize internal business meetings and manage follow-up/action items.
  • Serve as the key contact for clients, internal stakeholders, and the business for all service-related client matters.
  • Develop strong relationships with local offices and Client Service teams globally in the US, EMEA, and APAC.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • University degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant finance experience.
  • Previous experience at an asset management firm; background in client service and/or intermediary client base.
  • Ability to develop strong client and internal relationships and an in-depth understanding of client servicing needs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects across business areas to achieve results.
  • Self-starter who is adaptive, fast-learning, communicative, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Based in Hong Kong, with support coverage across APAC.
  • Global mindset – ability to identify synergies with global counterparts.
  • Team player, strong communicator, and problem solver.
  • SFC License is required.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Background in client service or in a client-facing role, especially in areas related to asset management.
  • Experience in alternative investments, private wealth and asset management.
  • Strong language skills in English, Mandarin, and/or Cantonese (written and spoken) are a must. Japanese will be an additional merit.
Great opportunity to be part of our Global Alternatives Client Service team.
